Marcolin Eyewear Fall Winter Collection

Few days back, I attended the collection launch event for Marcolin Eyewear’s FW’18.

The event took place at Ritz Carlton, JBR, and was attended by top notch Media and Socialites from the region.

Marcolin collection for the fall winter is inspired by the 50s. The styles and designs they feature look totally classy and elegant.

When looking for trendy and stylish glasses look no further then Marcolin. Their frames add a glam factor and totally complement the facial features.

Marcolin’s collection also features the 2-in-1 magnetic frames for people with cylindrical glasses.

I tried few pairs at the event and I was unable to decide which looked d best on me….

Roberto Cavalli Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 eyewear collection

The sun and optical styles from the Roberto Cavallicollection are designed for modern, alluring, feminine and dynamic women.

The inspiration comes from four main concepts — the first is circles, in which the brand’s heraldic logo in the temples and mirror lenses brings a modern accent to the shapes, while the slim, bevelled profiles add a touch of lightness.

The second concept is a 50’s-inspired look with substantial profiles, transparent colours and crystals on the frame fronts, which give a unique, strong allure to the shapes.

The last two inspirational concepts are the use of snake and the butterfly shape detailing. The snake, an icon now in both the eyewear and the clothing, is interpreted in various forms and can be found not only on the temples but also on the bridges of the frames, making the models unique and distinctive.

The butterfly models represent the more luxe part of the maison, elegant and sensual and embellished with crystals applied by hand.

Guess Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 Collection

The new GUESS Eyewear Autumn/Winter 2018-2019 collection celebrates femininity with a touch of fun. Sunglasses and eyeglasses, both men’s and women’s, alluring and seductive, are perfectly in line with the brand’s style, world renowned for its daring, young and adventurous spirit.

Classic frames, revisited each time following the brand’s concepts, are combined with bold ideas and innovative designs. Subtly logoed easy-to-wear styles alternate with more iconic designs, where the logo features prominently to highlight the brand’s identity.

Fashion-forward shapes decorated with eye- catching patterns and animal prints complement the collection of sensual eyewear, inspired by 1950s shapes, reworked in a modern way. The iconic cheetah print echoes the wild, distinctly bold style of the brand.

Classic and eccentric frames add a glamourous persona to the entire collection. Metal is also used as a diagonal contrasting element in the acetate of the temples. Sparkling glitter, another contemporary detail, is featured tastefully on the temples to brighten the entire look. Classic, flat or trimmed with rhinestones, the chain motif is the common iconic element that links the eyewear and accessories collections. The brand’s own signature logo becomes a distinctive element, featured as a triangle on the front, where the temples connect.

Gradient lenses in different rainbow hues complement the frames and feature small rock & roll inspired studs and crystal hearts for a punk-inspired look.

Ermenegildo Zegna eyewear collection for Autumn/Winter 2018-2019

The Ermenegildo Zegna eyewear revolves around four important clusters that create a direct link to the world of Zegna. The first is the “Chevron”, the iconic texture used for Zegna fabrics and reinterpreted by personalizing the pins of the frame front and the metal temples. The second is the “Shape”, which traces the outline of the models in the collection and plays on the use of well-defined angles and large volumes. The third concept, “Vicuña”, is the colour that identifies all the models, and which can be seen on the metal bridges or temples. Finally, the “Touch”, translated with the use of saffian effect leather or a scratched look on the end pieces, are technical methods which create an extremely sophisticated tactile effect.

The sunglass and optical collections feature a simple, straight-line design, yet constructed with important aesthetic and technical details that strengthen and individualize their identity.
