 Atelier Swarovski unveils a new collaboration with avant-garde fashion house Viktor&Rolf for Autumn/Winter 2014.

The collection was launched at the design duo’s Autumn/Winter 2014 ready to wear show during Paris Fashion Week, with stunning graphic pieces from the Atelier Swarovski range accessorising the runway looks.

The Atelier Swarovski by Viktor&Rolf collection features striking statement pieces set with sparkling and matte crystals in Black Diamond and Jet colour ways. The collection includes two ranges, both exploring the effect of texture, matte and shine: Velvet Rock uses a new technique in which crystals are embedded within velvet flocking; and Frozen Crystal juxtaposes matte and sparkling crystals. The graphic designs are simple and chic, whilst the fashion-forward flocking provides a luxurious textured contrast to the highly polished crystal stones. The Frozen Crystal range will be distributed exclusively in 1,500 Swarovski stores worldwide – a first for Atelier Swarovski.

 

Viktor&Rolf commented: “We wanted to put crystals on edge and give them a sense of mystery, as well as play with their contrasting matte and shining effects. By juxtaposing sparkling and velvet-covered crystals, we emphasise their brilliance and add a touch of surreal glamour. Through a long history of creative partnership and mutual understanding, we were able to achieve these technically-difficult pieces together with Atelier Swarovski.”

Inspiration behind the designs can be found in the interior of Viktor&Rolf’s first flagship boutique in Paris, opened in December 2013, which is rendered entirely in grey felt.
