The outline of a heart and its association with love and romance dates back to the 13th century; where in the French manuscript Roman de la Poire, a kneeling lover offers a heart to a damsel.

The silhouette of a heart is incorporated into a variety of Graff Diamonds’ jewellery pieces including unique one-of-a-kind jewels, collection pieces, beautifully simple pendants, line bracelets and earrings, elegant tiaras and ornate drop necklaces.

A timepiece from Graff Luxury Watches’ Trilogy collection is also inspired by the classic outline of a heart, which honours the purity and simplicity of the shape through an innovative diamond set design.

Each rough stone required the meticulous attention to detail and artistry of Graff’s master cutter to ensure the two heart shaped stones were developed in unison as a matching pair.

When crafting a heart shaped stone, the skill and expression of the cutter plays an important role due to the variety of possible proportions which are a vital consideration for this cut.

An example of this is The Graff Sweethearts, which were crafted from two incredible rough diamonds weighing 196cts and 184cts, a process that took several months and many thousands of hours at the bench.
